Project Management Services

CSI can provide full turnkey solutions, manage a portion of your project in conjunction with other contractors, or help you do it yourself.

CSI provides a full range of service

Regardless how our relationship is structured, CSI relies on documented, standard procedures and tools to design, develop, and install projects.

Adherence to these standard procedures helps ensure consistency, predictability, and ultimately the success of the project.

Here are just some of the services CSI can deliver in addition to our products.

Define System Requirements

One of our first tasks is to perform a site survey. This helps us identify site-specific requirements that might not be considered in the specification.

The site survey, the specification (if it already exists), and input from the customer further identify the specific requirements of the project.

Design & Document

Next, CSI develops a Project Scope Document (PSD) which documents the project's requirements, system architecture, and system configuration. This document serves to guide the project development team and serves as a baseline for validation and verification of the system.

Formal approval of the PSD by the customer and CSI is required before moving to the next phase.

Procure, Configure, & Test

At this stage, CSI acquires the necessary equipment, configures the system, builds panels, tests the system prior to the formal Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) — whatever is called for in the contract and the Project Scope Document.

CSI then prepares a detailed FAT document for approval by the customer. This document describes the testing methods, identifies resources and materials required to support the FAT, known limitations of the test environment, and defines the FAT issue recording and resolution procedure.

The actual FAT typically takes place at a CSI staging area with the participation of customer representatives. The FAT typically lasts a week, although this can vary depending on the scope of the project.

Install & Start Up

Once the FAT has been signed off, CSI prepares a Startup and Commissioning Plan for approval by the customer. This Plan details required pre-startup, startup, and commissioning activities.

Once the Plan has been approved, CSI can provide one or more project engineers to perform or assist in startup and commissioning at each site.

To verify that the installed system performs the same after installation, a Site Acceptance Test (SAT) document is developed, approved, and implemented. The SAT is then performed, witnessed, and signed off.

Train

CSI offers standard product and project-specific training at CSI's offices or at the customer's offices/sites.

Training consists of small classes conducted by a professional who is experienced at designing, configuring, installing, and supporting UCOS systems. Our trainers are also excellent communicators.

There are courses for everyone: managers who are evaluating UCOS, your engineers, your operators, your support people, etc.

For a description of each course, please download the UCOS course catalog (PDF 179K).
