Application:

Automatic product batching and receipt in full automatic mode, extensive use of serial interfaces to gather data and issue commands, dedicated SCADA link to the upstream station which closely tied the product identification cycles at the pump station to the receiving operations at the bulk depot.

Scale:

Control of a large, refined petroleum bulk depot, the pipeline segment which supplied product to the bulk depot, all product receiving facilities, and an upstream pumping station. The system consisted of approximately 4,000 discrete and serial I/O and six operator workstations.

Solutions:

The coordinated SCADA control supplied by CSI enabled product changes to be identified by the upstream remote then stored by the master system so that product cuts at the depot could be anticipated and made precisely with zero slops diverted to transmix.
