Kuwait National Petroleum Co.

Application:

Pipeline SCADA, fuel depot automation, bulk product receipt, storage, and dispensing control.

KNPC Logo

Scale:

Kuwait spent $75 billion to recover from the Iraqi invasion of 1990. The oil industry infrastructure was extremely hard hit, including pipelines, distribution depots, and filling stations run by the Kuwait National Petroleum Company. As a consequence, that infrastructure had to be rebuilt.

Solutions:

Product receipts via pipeline and tank transfers are performed in automatic mode with extensive interlocking including batch scheduling and tracking of product movement into the terminals. Highly accurate colorimeters detect batch changes during product receipt to avoid contamination. Real-time collection of transaction and operations data supports better distribution analysis and management. The system combines a business solution with fully automated control for product receiving and transfer, storage, loading and unloading operations, and facility security and safety.

Scope:

Project management, specification development, advanced application development, systems and equipment acquisition, system configuration and testing, instrument engineering, drawings and documentation, installation and commissioning, training, product and system support, field services.
