Pipeline Business Management Features

In addition, CSI's pipeline management solution can perform enterprise-level pipeline nomination and receipt business management. The system can be configured to concurrently manage those activities for multiple pipelines and for multiple destination terminals serviced by those pipelines.

Nomination Management

  • Consignor (the shipper)
  • Origin point (where the product will enter the pipeline)
  • Product type (for example, unleaded gasoline)
  • Planned batch quantity (for example, 50,000 barrels)
  • Availability date (when the product will be ready to enter the pipeline)
  • Destination points (where the product will exit the pipeline)
  • Destination quantities (how much product will exit the pipeline at the destination(s)
  • Destination consignee (who the product is for at the destination – may be the shipper (consignor) or a different consignee at each destination)
  • Tender deduction (for use in cases where a fixed shrinkage is applied to the actual movement)
  • Over/under destination (the destination that is to assume any difference between the planned batch quantity and the actual batch quantity).

Receipt Management

  • Nomination ID (ties actual receipt to planned movement - see nomination management, above)
  • Actual batch quantity
  • Actual shipment date (when the product entered the pipeline)
  • Destination points (where the product exited the pipeline)
  • Actual destination quantities (how much product exited the pipeline at destinations)
  • Destination consignee (who the product was for at the destination – may be the shipper/consignor or a different consignee at each destination)
  • Automatic calculation and application (in terms of inventory) of a tender deduction for the movement
  • Automatic calculation and application (in terms of inventory) of the over/under quantity for the movement
