USBR Reverse Osmosis Desalting Plant

Application: |
Desalting river water via reverse osmosis (RO). |
Scale: |
The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation operates the largest reverse osmosis desalting plant in the world using more than 13,000 I/O points, 32 controllers, eight Operator Workstations, and a pair of redundant archivers. |
Solutions: |
UCOS replaced a control system that was no longer supported. Although the I/O was also no longer supported, it was functioning well. Since UCOS is hardware independent, it worked with the existing I/O.
After UCOS was in place, the Bureau also began using it to collect data from remote well sites. Now, data from each well site is radioed to the plant where a central SCADA server makes the information available to operators in one unified system. |
Scope: |
Training, product and system support, field services. |
