Application:

Control for multiple pumping stations, deep wells, a wasteway, and a power plant.

Scale:

52 remote sites communicating with a central UCOS SCADA Server via Modbus and modem radios.

Solutions:

The Central Control Station (CCS) uses UCOS to monitor and control water levels and flows at the power plant and the California wasteway.

At the CCS, the UCOS SCADA system is linked via TCP/IP to two Ethernet modem radios. Each modem radio is used to extend the LAN to a real-time UCOS controller at the power plant and one at the California wasteway. The remote controllers send real-time data to the CCS on a report-by-exception basis and also serve as the local controllers for the Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O.

The CCS houses the UCOS Process Historical Archiver so all real-time data, trends, and alarms can be recorded and viewed from a central location.

The system also includes a real-time alarm paging feature that logs specified alarms and then alerts a specified pager noting the tag name and alarm description.

Scope:

Training, product and system support, field services.
